that moment when you're stuck in a rut.

Oct 21, 2025

It’s hard being in a creative rut…

Sometimes it looks like back-to-back clients, missing birthdays, and running with your creative energy on empty. You're out here building your dream but that dream doesn't always look like beaches and brunches.

At the Inside Out Club, we talk about all of the hustle, heart, and hard parts of the industry because building a creative career shouldn't mean losing yourself in the process. You're not behind, we've got you.

While friends are planning beach days or vacations, we’re packing kits, managing client expectations, chasing invoices, and editing content on our day off. On top of all of that is the pressure to stay inspired, stay relevant, and stay present online, while remaining creative.

Here's your reminder: creative ruts don't mean you're not good at what you do. Missing out doesn't mean you're not allowed to feel sad. Being overwhelmed doesn't mean you're doing it wrong. It means you're human and you're running a business. You're not alone and most importantly you're not behind. Let's keep building careers that's support our artistry and our well-being. We see you.

If this hit home for you, say hi and let me know how you're feeling. I read every message and want to know your thoughts.

Xoxo, Cat

my just-in-case kit
Every artist knows — no matter how prepared you are, something always comes up on the job. A lash lifts, a zipper breaks, a client gets a headache, someone spills coffee down their shirt right before photos. That’s where your emergency kit comes in — the unsung hero tucked inside your main kit that saves the day (and your sanity). I always say: the products in your kit make you a great artist, ...
your kit speaks first
Before a client sees your work, they see your setup. How you arrive, how you unpack, how you move — it all communicates who you are as an artist long before the makeup ever touches their face. A professional kit isn’t just about products — it’s about presence.Clean. Curated. Intentional. When a client watches you work with ease and organization, they feel safe in your hands.
