your holiday szn is yours

Nov 26, 2025

The holidays come with so many expectations — slow down, be cozy, spend time with family, take time off, be present… meanwhile in our industry, November/December can also be one of the busiest times of the year. It’s a weird mix of pressure, joy, chaos, and comparison.

But here’s the truth I want you to remember:
Your holiday season doesn’t have to look like anybody else’s.

If you feel recharged by being with family, being home, cooking, slowing down, and grounding yourself — honor that.
If being around family is emotionally heavy for you, or you feel more yourself when you’re working and in your flow — honor that too.

Both are valid. Both are healthy. Both are okay.
It’s not “bad” to take time off, and it’s not “bad” to take on work if that’s what makes you feel good right now. You get to choose what you need without guilt or explanation, that’s the best part about being your own boss.

This is already a tough month for so many people. So give yourself permission to protect your peace, your energy, and your mental health — whatever that looks like for you. Your holiday season is yours to define, not something you have to perform.

Wellness Tip:
Put your needs and your peace first this week. You’ll never regret putting yourself first.

That’s where your emergency kit comes in — the unsung hero tucked inside your main kit that saves the day (and your sanity). I always say: the products in your kit make you a great artist, ...
your kit speaks first
Before a client sees your work, they see your setup. How you arrive, how you unpack, how you move — it all communicates who you are as an artist long before the makeup ever touches their face. A professional kit isn’t just about products — it’s about presence.Clean. Curated. Intentional. When a client watches you work with ease and organization, they feel safe in your hands. They trust you faster...
good kit vs. pro kit
Every makeup artist has a kit — but not every artist has a professional kit. A good kit is filled with great products.A professional kit is built with intention, efficiency, and structure.   Early in my career, I thought upgrading my products was what made me “level up.” But what actually changed everything was upgrading my systems — how I packed, how I organized, what I chose to carry (and mor...
