summer bridal essentials

Oct 21, 2025

When you're working weddings in the summer heat, prepping your bride for longevity, comfort, and photos is all a part of the job. Over time, I’ve curated a kit of summer must-haves that have saved me—and my brides.

here are some MVPs I swear by:

—Mini Rechargeable Fan: A GAME CHANGER. Use it between shots to cool your bride down and prevent sweat from breaking through makeup. (& for yourself lol)

—Fenty Invisimatte Powder:Still my favorite for mid-day touch-ups. No flashback, no buildup, and it absorbs oil beautifully without disturbing the base.

—Drinking Straws: Sounds random, but trust me: brides need to stay hydrated, and straws let them sip water (or champagne) without ruining their lip. I keep a pack of bendy plastic straws in my kit at all times.

—Blotting Sheets: Lightweight, easy to use, and perfect for quick shine control without adding product.

—Hydrating Eye Drops: Long ceremonies + dry outdoor air = tired, red eyes. A discreet drop or two can brighten the eyes.

—Travel-Size Deodorant: Brides (and bridal parties) often forget to bring this, and it’s a lifesaver.

People will always remember you for having these little things, and potentially saving the day.

WELLNESS TIP:

DON’T FORGET TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF TOO!!!

Long summer wedding days are no joke, and how you feel physically will impact how you show up. A few things I swear by:

  • A comfortable black sundress: Keeps you cool, looks polished, and blends in with guests instead of screaming “vendor.”
  • Supportive shoes: Game. Changer. Invest in a comfortable pair that you can stand and walk in for hours.
  • Electrolytes & snacks: Staying hydrated and keeping your energy up helps you stay sharp and avoid that mid-day crash.

You’re the calming energy that your bride needs—don’t forget to give that same care to yourself too!!!!!

your kit speaks first
Before a client sees your work, they see your setup. How you arrive, how you unpack, how you move — it all communicates who you are as an artist long before the makeup ever touches their face. A professional kit isn’t just about products — it’s about presence.Clean. Curated. Intentional. When a client watches you work with ease and organization, they feel safe in your hands.
